Privacy Policy
The short version: SlashFill stores everything locally on your device using Chrome's built-in sync storage. We collect no personal data, run no servers, and make no network requests.
What We Collect
Nothing. SlashFill does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers.
How Your Data Is Stored
Your slash commands and their values are saved exclusively using chrome.storage.sync — a Chrome API that stores data locally on your device and optionally syncs it across your own Chrome profile using your Google account. This sync is handled entirely by Chrome/Google and is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
SlashFill never reads, copies, or transmits this data to any third party.
Permissions Explained
- storage — to save and retrieve your slash commands locally.
- contextMenus — to add a right-click "Save as SlashFill command" option when you select text on any page.
- Access to all sites (<all_urls>) — required so the slash-command dropdown can appear in text fields on any website you visit. SlashFill only activates when you type
/in an input field. It does not read, capture, or transmit page content.
Third-Party Services
SlashFill makes no network requests and does not integrate with any analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
Children's Privacy
SlashFill does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
